From Idea to Product: The Creative Journey
Share
Every product begins with an idea.
Sometimes it stems from an inspiration, a personal need, or even a conversation with others. As a creator, I’m often driven by the desire to solve a problem or make life a little easier, and that’s where the journey starts.
I typically begin by jotting down ideas, often on whatever paper I can find, capturing the essence of the solution I’m envisioning. At this stage, it’s all about brainstorming and figuring out if my concept will truly address the problem at hand.
Once the idea is solid, the next step is designing an early prototype. I focus on making it physical, testing its strength and functionality, but I also ensure it’s aesthetically pleasing. Beauty matters just as much as practicality.
For example, some of the lamps and stands I’ve produced for my store started with a simple sketch, but it was the exploration of materials and functionality that took them to the next level. The "Bahar Lamp," for instance, began as a minimalist idea to create a light fixture that could blend seamlessly into any home decor. I wanted it to be striking yet subtle, to enhance a space without overwhelming it. Through prototyping, I tested different materials like brushed metal effect and kind of rosted glass, ensuring that the lamp wasn’t just durable but also emitted a warm, ambient glow perfect for any room.
Another product, the "Herbora – The Herb & Spice Rack Inspired by Nature's Bounty," was born from the idea of bringing the essence of nature’s harvest into the kitchen. With its organic curves and natural textures, Herbora holds your favourite seasonings with elegance, turning them into a living display. It’s designed to be both functional and beautiful, with multiple colour options to complement any kitchen style. I wanted it to be a blend of rustic charm and modern functionality, so I made sure that Herbora could be stacked to create a multi-level display, offering flexible organisation for up to five levels or more. This was a product that had to embody both the beauty of nature and the practicality of everyday use—something that not only organised but enhanced the space it occupied.
I don’t consider any product truly finished. Each item, whether it’s a lamp, a stand, or another piece, is continually evolving. Every tweak, test, and change leads me closer to the perfect version of the product, but there’s always room for more. With each new design, I discover new possibilities, improving the functionality or refining the look, always striving for something better.
This constant cycle of refinement is what brings an idea from paper to reality. Each iteration helps shape something that not only works but also excites and inspires. The lamps, stands, and other creations in my store are not just products—they are the result of a process driven by curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to improvement. They reflect my passion for design, functionality, and the joy of bringing new ideas to life.
