Portraits for Joseph Lia

Some time ago I had the pleasure of meeting a great friend on the island of Gozo whilst on a short visit.  I have known Joseph Lia for some time and whilst chatting he was interested into having a  photo shoot for his portfolio back in St.Petersburg.

The day was wonderful, little bit sunny but we’ve passed a good time.  These are some of the portraits taken.

The Godfather

I have been working on a project for the past 2 years or so, themed between the 1920′s – 30′s with the malavita in mind.  I wanted to get out the intricacies the strengths and the difficulties and moments of anger and anguish which one might suffer due to various happening.  The model Owen Gusman just had the right characteristics and very professional and patient into getting out very abstract facial expressions, at time totally inverse expressions during the same session.  I am still working on this project so there is more to come.

Modelling

During a photo session my aim is to bring out the best of the model.

Before taking a photo shoot I like to meet the model beforehand, so that I can get to know the person better, and In this way I can guarantee that together we can work out the best shots possible.
