Bio
Reuben Chircop is an art photographer with ten years hands-on experience working with various subjects in different locations which are usually translated from particular thoughts or carry with them intense messages. Although he focuses mainly on architectural and abstract photography, he is also keen to delve into other areas of the medium which help him diversify into new subjects, within them travel and family photography.
For the past six years he has been exhibiting his works mostly in various places around Malta and Gozo with different titles such as one of his latest self exploration project titled “My World”. Reuben has also performed other exhibitions away from the island of Malta.
For him photography is not just a print, a shot taken in a specific time that is only technically correct. His intention is initially driven by a thought, then he strives into searching for that right moment which best describes his thought and translates it into an image.
“I can be seen running around through the streets at night with my tripod and my camera doing strange movements just to get the right angle and some might say, what is this crazy man doing, but as long as I get what I have in mind then it does not really matter.
Reuben is keen on improving further and will give what it takes to reach his aims and to keep sharing his views of the world around him, as he states “the outside world is one big studio”. He has also published a small book titled “A Pebbled Path” composed of short thoughts accompanied by some of his own images too, inspired from a moment in his life that left an impact on how he views the world today.
For him photography is a way of life, an appreciation towards life itself.
