Open Your Eyes and See
11 Jun
My current fixation with doors has dragged me down once again to Valletta, and for another time I have discovered new angles, new sides which hath remained in the dark for all the time when I visited. Today the light sheds from the warmth of the “lanterns” that have inspired me to look within even further. Accompanied by two friends to observe or appreciate further the magnificence of this place we moved along the narrow streets.
Doors are like pathways, they can lead to somewhere and they can obstruct ones’ path, they can hide and close away behind them unsolved mysteries. Like doors our lives change and with them our feelings, our emotions, our thoughts, our own selves.
Some doors have a key, others don’t, or else can be opened from the inside, every being can either choose to open up or close oneself from the rest of society, from what makes man, humane.
However so, a door is meant to be opened even if it takes time to achieve, even if thy key is lost in the midst of time.
Where is my key ?

Hey mate, Great city man, every time I go there its like I fall in love with this city over and over again. It had such a deep character.
Geez ! these pics really capture the soul of valletta - keep it rubs
my fav this time is the one with the moon - its so vivid , just beautiful
Yes the moon was really clear that night shedding some light in the dark areas. However the main subject was really doors of which I will be adding a gallery specifically on this subject later on.
Thanks for your positive comments
What about those doors which you think lead to somewhere specific but instead lead to somewhere else … somewhere that you had never imagined?
Yes there are also those types of doors Godwin, there are some which lead to other doors. The only difference is whether you recognize these types of doors.
There are doors which never fail to remain un-opened then open up just when you give up.
I really like your thoughts about doors! Some can be extremely mysterious and intriguing, some can be a challenge or even downright frightening. Some take courage and time to open but I feel that no matter what, once opened there’s always certain treasures to be found.
I’m curious to find out where your path is taking you: you might find yourself taking pictures of half opened doors over time. And who knows, after a while you might be taking pictures of what lies behind those doors… Either way the images remain beautiful and complement your thoughts, thank you for showing
Hi Tess,
I really appreciate your sharing of thoughts too. I do feel that every door hides a secret, a surprise. Yes maybe I am still searching for a specific door, maybe I have already found the door for me, or maybe I am using the wrong key. Whatever the case passing through the path towards this door helps me find other interesting things in life that I have always ignored.

Hi Reuben! Long time, no see!
I have had a look at many of the photos you took and they are really breathtaking. In future, it would be a good idea to choose the best ones and publish them in a book. I am sure that it would be very popular among tourists and local photography enthusiasts.
Hope to meet sometime soon! Best wishes!
Hi Dave, thanks for your empowering comments. I would really like to make my own calendar one day or as you said a picture book accompanied by thoughts. Maybe one day it will become real. Thanks again.
