Open Your Eyes and See

Every cage has a size, some are small ,some are big.

I took a photo of my reflection so that within a hundred years I could recognize myself lost within the waves of tempests that may come and go leaving nothing more than a mere mortal confused and obfuscated more than before.  The past can torment us, the present may confuse us but the worst of all is the future that poses question of what is yet to come.

Woke up very early to enjoy the sunrise but it was no where to be seen. The light was however a photographers dream.

A long time has it been

Since the movement of this pencil I have seen.

A long time has passed,

Since my eyes met this orange cast,

And as time rolled and curled,

The voice of Neptune I hath heard.

You know

You can ask a hundred questions,

For a hundred years to come,

But for a hundred years that pass,

And a hundred questions asked,

A hundred answers I cannot offer,

For those hundred answers you require,

Lie within the hundred questions you forelayed,

And that my dear friend,

Only you can answer”.

I imagined this boat as a bad dream, blurred but I know its there. Maybe the tree could be my monolith.

So I ended up returning to the starting point, my questions that is !

Only time will tell, or maybe is it that the illusion of searching in aeternum causing an unrelated expectation to an answer that might never be found or if so never accepted.

For the past four years I have been thinking about publishing a book, which related a story and which offered food for thought. During these years I always produced excuses not to accomplish what I really wanted (probably due to fear of failure).  Thanks to a simple pebble now my dream came to reality and what was imaginary has now become physical.

In this book I expressed my feelings in duo through images and thoughts all created in the same instance on a tranquil sandy beach in Gozo.  Here I found the inspiration needed to push me over to doing rather than just dreaming.

The sea, the breeze, the sand so clean, the serenity around was just incredible.  It was almost impossible not to write something.  Reading and viewing my thoughts I can almost feel the same sensation I felt when I was there, so I hope it will have the same energising effect on you who will go through the passage and the images.

The link below will take you to an online preview of the book and should you like it, you can purchase online and it will be delivered directly to your address.

Thank you.

I would like to thank all those who visited the exhibition and for sending in your comments about my exhibiting shots.  I believe that all the work exhibited of all the 24 Photographers is of optimum quality, besides the devotion given in by the curator Kevin Casha who has taken care of this opportunity for us the emerging artists.  Thank you.

For the courtesy of those who could not visit the gallery I have herewith included my expressions that have been exhibited.

I looked at each wave, as if staring at a magnificent piece of art, just like a newborn looking out of the protecting hands of his mother at the external antagonist world. And as I was there in a would be magnificent world another wave came rushing over as if to remind me that I was dreaming, for I was just passing by like a number in an accountants’ ledgers.

Once again I wait, for a moment, for an instance, for a shot.  I wait for this is the only task I can reach, the only instance I can achieve, the only time I can be myself.  My senses are not as alert as they should be but aware, enough to know that I am not alone.
